Crack in my lip won't heal! I've tried EVERYTHING besides cosmetic surgery!?

For as long as I can remember I've had a reoccuring crack in my lower lip. It's hard to leave alone because it is so irritating, which doesn't help. I've tried every type of ointment there is. It's gotten to the point where I think it's becoming a scar. It will heal now and then, but if I smile, sneeze, or try to take a bite if a big burger, I'm right back to sqare one. What do you think?Crack in my lip won't heal! I've tried EVERYTHING besides cosmetic surgery!?
My husband has this as well.It tends to get worse in the winter. So far the only thing that helps is to keep it moist so as not to tear more. Its less likely to rip open when you keep it moist.Put neosporin on it at bedtime so it has time to heal while youre sleeping, drink lots of water for hydration.good Luck!Crack in my lip won't heal! I've tried EVERYTHING besides cosmetic surgery!?
possibly it has some stubborn infection in it....i have a similar recurring crack inside my nose and i have to swab it with Merthiolate.....then it heals up for a long time.....you might gargle regularly with Hydrogen Peroxide and buy some 'medicated' Vaseline....... Report Abuse

Cosmetic surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

I have thin lips how can i make them look bigger without resorting to cosmetic surgery?

are there any good products out there?I have thin lips how can i make them look bigger without resorting to cosmetic surgery?
you need to wear lip balm as much as you can during the day at all times, and at night apply ALOT before bed. i dont mean ';chapstick'; or ';lipsmackers'; coz they're not really moisturising, they're just all about smelling good and the cute packaging.

try Carmex, Burts Bees is AMAZING, Palmers CocoaButter Lip Balm, all the Nivea Lip Care lip balms are great too especially Light Kiss. keeping your lips very well moisturised makes them appear alottt fuller. have a lipbalm in your bag, one by your bed, one by ur computer etc. so you have lipbalm on alot of the day, at night try Blistex Intensive Moisuriser.

trust me it really helps im wearin lipbalm constantly an it makes them look moisturised and plumped up

2x a week you need to do this in the morning:

mix olive oil or sunflower oil with sugar in a bowl, put the gritty mixture onto a toothbrush and gently scrub your lips, wash this off and apply lots of lip balm. this exfoliating scrub makes lips healthy.

the best lip plumping gloss i have tried (and ive tried all these: Urban Decay Big Fatty Lip Plumper, the colored Too Faced Lip Injection Glosses, Lip Injection Extreme, Sally Hansen Lip Inflation, Blistex Lip Restore, Rimmel Volume Boost, Dior Addict Collagen Lip Maximiser, Soap%26amp;Glory Sexy Mother Pucker) the best by far is the original Too Faced Lip Injection%26gt;

http://www.toofaced.com/product_template鈥?/a>

(although i buy it from ebay as its quite alot cheaper on there)

id also recommend Sally Hansen Thin Lip Collagen Boost as a daily lip care product, its part of my everyday skincare routine, i apply it every night as it moisturises while promoting collagen production in your lips, the more you use it the better the results everyday. its pretty cheap too! i love it

heres what it looks like%26gt;

home made lip plumpers:

theres a few ways to make a succesful lip plumper at home!

you need:

Vaseline-preferably the one in the green tin (with aloevera to moisturise)

Cayenne Pepper (this can be found in your supermarket with the spices)

instead of Cayenne Pepper you can also use Cinnamon or Black Pepper.

if possible pick up a lil bottle of Vitamin E oil from your local health shop, but this isnt necessary, it moisturises really well its great for your skin but if you cant find it dont worry u dont need it to make these lip plumpers.

scoop out a small amount of vaseline (just enough to cover your lips!) onto a plate/bowl.

take a tiny pinch of your chosen spice and mix it well with the vaseline

now put 1 tiny drop of vitamin E (if you have it)

apply this to your lips, carefully making sure you dont go outside the lip line. leave it on for 10 minutes, then wash it off and apply balm or gloss. your lips will be soo plump and pink it always works!

or add a few drops of Cinnamon oil to your favourite lipgloss!! works so well

make up:

Cover the lips with foundation or concealer, just as one would on the rest of the face. Blend well.

you need a lip liner that is the same neutral shade/slightly darker than your lip, apply the liner carefully in a thin line JUST outside your natural lip line, starting in the middle of the top lip and working out toward each corner.

Line the bottom lip in the same fashion, starting in the middle and working toward the ends, stay close to the natural lip line to keep a realistic appearance. on the bottom lip in the middle, make the lipliner slightly darker (i made this pic so you can see whereabouts on the lip you need to make the line darker) this makes your bottom lip look very plump%26gt;

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh295鈥?/a>

use a cotton bud or your finger to drag the liner down into your lip,

Use the same liner to completely fill color in the lips, use fingers to blend. Be sure that there are no obvious lines. Blot the liner with tissue if necessary or blend with a finger.now add your gloss, balm, plumping gloss or lipstick

using white/shimmery highlighter apply a very faint dot above your cupids bow, this will give your lips a poutier look and additional dimension

sorry 2 write so much, i just know ALOT about lip health and plumping, im abit obsessed with it! hope it helps ya x

ALSO many people recommend Lip Fusion ($50), but it was compared with Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme (around $5) and sally hansen's had better results (if u read the ingredients they are basicaly the same)

i use the sally hansen lip inflation extreme and love it xI have thin lips how can i make them look bigger without resorting to cosmetic surgery?
Hydration is necessary for achieving plump lips. Drink water as often as you can and carry a good lip balm with SPF with you.

Before you get in the shower, rub a thick layer of petroleum jelly or honey on and around your lips but don't wipe it off in the shower. The steam will help it to penetrate, giving you smooth lips. Wipe off any residue when you're done.

After brushing your teeth, use your toothbrush or a terrycloth towel to exfoliate your lips. This will also temporarily swell them. If your lips are really dry and flaking, then try a layer of Carmex, topped with a layer of petroleum jelly or Aquaphor when you go to sleep at night. You should wake up with soft, flake-free lips.

Invest in a good lip plumper that has MaxiLip or hyaluronic acid as an ingredient rather than an irritant like cinnamon oil (which will be painful and only temporarily swell your lips). Apply it once or twice a day. When applying, open your mouth as wide as possible to get the best effect.

Put gold or silver (depending on your personal coloring) eyeshadow on your Cupid's Bow with a lip brush. It will reflect light and make your upper lip look poutier. You can also put a bit of matte bronzer or neutral, tan eye shadow under your bottom lip for the same effect. Be sure to blend carefully!

After lipstick/gloss, dab more of the gold or silver eyeshadow (or use a frosty gloss) in the center of your top and bottom lips. Make sure to blend it, but not too much.

Only exfoliate your lips once a week, the skin on your lips is much more delicate.

Research lip plumpers before buying. You never know if they'll work as well as they promise.

If your lips are a warm color (reds), use gold eyeshadow.

If your lips are a cool color (pinks), use silver eyeshadow.

Your Cupid's Bow is the 'V' on your top lip.

Surgery is not necessary. The at-home tricks are much simpler and more inexpensive than cosmetic surgery ever will be.

Plumpers may irritate sensitive skin, so look out for ingredients like cinnamon.

Carmex can be addictive! It should only be used if your lips are truly dry, cracked and flaking (or if you have a cold sore) in order to remove the dead skin. If you use it on health, smooth lips, it will dry up the skin.

xoxo_LEi
use a natural lip liner to outline ur lips but dont put it all the way around.. just under neath ur bottom lip at the thickest part (the middle) and the points of ur top lips, blend it in by slwly fading the colour out as u reach the corners, then use a clear lip gloss and get a white shimmer eyeshadow or shimmer lip gloss (sparkly) and dab a little bit at the middle of ur bottom lip (thickest part) and the point of ur top lip.

the shimmer makes it look like the light catches it really nicely to, and ur lips look bigger and u will look great ;)

Blondiexox
LipFusion XL is the most successful lip plumping gloss out right now, and it even comes with the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval (which provides a refund if product is defective).

It works really well so you're gonna pay a bit for it. It's $50 thru their website and at Sephoras. But its cheaper then lip injections!

http://lipfusion.com/
I've tried Buxom (I got it for free at Sephora). It basically just irritates your lips so more blood goes to them. I don't notice a big difference, but it's a fantastic lip gloss and it lasts a long time.

Lip Venom by Duwop is a good lip plumper that I use. It dilates the capillaries in the lips to make them swell a little and gives them a naturally flushed look. it's available at sephora but is a little pricey.

Any makeup or cosmetic surgery advice for women with two different colored lips?

I'm from a South Asian (Indian, Pakistani) background, and know that many African-Americans suffer through this problem as well. My top lip is dark brown, while my bottom lip is bright pink. Any specific lipsticks or lipglosses that would help disguise this irregularity. I've already tried blending different lipsticks together, but it takes too much time, and still doesn't look right. Also, is there any laser or cosmetic procedure that can be done to maybe soften the large color difference? I've been searching endlessly for any answers, and haven't found any information at all. Thanks for the help.Any makeup or cosmetic surgery advice for women with two different colored lips?
You can try using a brown lip liner...MAC makes a wonderful one called chestnut. What you do is line your lips with the lip liner and then you rub your lips together...the color of the lip liner will stain your lips making them the exact same color. Or you can try this product called Dermablend(It really works), I believe it is sold at Foley's and Sephora. Personally i would not reccommend surgery. Please try these products.I wish you the best of luck.Any makeup or cosmetic surgery advice for women with two different colored lips?
Please do not get plastic surgery you were put here the way you are for a reason. Maybe use a darker color lipstick or lip gloss but please dont get plastic surgery.
Really, you look at this as a problem? It sounds extremely attractive in a exotic way.
';Permanent Make-up'; tattooing is the best option for you. Search your yellow pages for a qualified ';permanent makeup'; cosmetician.

This way you won't have to worry about blending lipstick or anything like that, your lips will be the same shade.

How can my lips thinner without cosmetic surgery?

please help me!How can my lips thinner without cosmetic surgery?
use the concealer/foundation that you normally use to cover around a small part of the border of your lips

but just saying..id do anything for bigger lipsHow can my lips thinner without cosmetic surgery?
Sometimes cosmetic surgery gone wrong http://surgerycosmetic.co.cc/rhinoplasty-nose-surgery-in-los-angeles/
can't but you can make them look thinner by lining inside the lip and using darker shades of lipstick avoiding gloss which makes it shiny and appear bigger. or put preparation h on it which will temporarily constrict the blood vessels in your lips making them appear smaller, but don't lick your lips, you don't want that stuff in your mouth, plus it taste nasty.
you can make then look thinner by applying cosmetics

3 steps:

1. Find out what color your skin is. Go to the drug store where you buy your make-up, and find a concealer that doesn't rub off easily. Be aware that a good concealer is sometimes expensive, but it's worth it.

2. Check your upper lip for any hairs, as these will be more obvious once you put on the concealer. Pluck them, wax them, etc. Just get rid of them! Avoid shaving them, as this may make it worse.

3. Take a lip-liner pencil and mark where you want your lips to be. Take your finger, and put a dab of concealer on it. Dab the concealer above your previously marked lip-line. Fill in your lips with lip-liner, gloss or lipstick.

Tip

* It's helpful if you do this part before the rest of your makeup if you use powder, or else it will look funny when you are finished.

im thinking twice - but i still want to do it - i just dont know about how long will the soreness and the puffiness will last and the things i should do afterwards... help!!!Cosmetic enhancement on the lips - (lip tattoo) can someone send me some pictures please!!! please!!! please!!
The only person I know who has had this done is Michael Jackson (so sorry, no pics). Although I'm sure he isn't the only celebrity to have it, he's definitely the most obvious. Here's a bunch of info on it, though. The 2nd half of talks about the risks, aftercare, etc.

Cosmetic Lip Tattoo - The History

Cosmetic lip tattooing is not new. As a practice to enhance beauty, women in ancient African and Mediterranean cultures often thickened or narrowed their lips using dark red or brown pigments and needles. This primitive form of cosmetic lip tattooing was known as scarification. Over the ages, surgeons, cosmetologists, tattoo artists, aestheticians and nurses are practicing cosmetic lip tattoos for beauty conscious women.

What is a Cosmetic Lip Tattoo?

Technically, cosmetic lip tattooing is still a form of scarification. Unlike other plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery procedures, it is non-invasive, and the application and recovery time for the procedure is much more comfortable. The procedure is usually used to reestablish the existing outline of the lips or to redefine the shape of lips. This is called permanent lip liner. You may also have permanent lip color applied to the fleshy part of the lips as well.

As an effort towards achieving perfect lips, lip cosmetic tattooing is often performed to mask and/or restore the lips. It is not just for vain individuals or those who simply can鈥檛 be bothered to apply their lip liner or lipstick. It is used to repair the lips of individuals who have had oral cancer or have suffered excessive depigmentation as the result of chemotherapy or sun damage. It can also help individuals who are blind or who have shaky hands (as the result of multiple sclerosis or cerebral palsy) to always look as if they have just applied a fresh coat of lipstick. Permanent lip tattoos are also a cosmetic solution for individuals who are partially or completely blind and unable to apply lip liner or lipstick by themselves.

    Cosmetic Lip Tattooing - Procedure

The application of permanent lips is done the same way as regular tattooing. A tattoo gun, which automatically dispenses biocompatible inks to the area to be tattooed, is commonly used for the procedure. The inks, which are delivered below the skin, are made of iron oxide or titanium dioxide pigments. If the work is very painstaking then the professional applying your new lips might apply the pigment manually with a hand held needle.

There is some debate about which method is better, the manual method or the tattoo gun method, for delivering pigment beneath the skin. Although the tattoo gun is faster, the fleshy part of the lips is very sensitive and using a tattoo gun might simply be too painful. Manual tattooing causes less bruising, swelling and bleeding but it also takes a lot longer. As lip tattooing can be very expensive, you might want to put up with the discomfort of the tattoo gun to minimize the amount of time you spend with the practitioner.

Consultation before Undergoing Cosmetic Lip Tattoo

Before you have your lips tattooed you do need to have an initial consultation with the professional applying the procedure. If you have a prolapsed mitral heart valve you may need to take antibiotics before hand to prevent a bacterial infection in your heart. You may also be asked to eliminate the use of aspirin and nicotine before the operation to minimize the chance of swelling or bleeding. The only real risk of the surgery is an allergic reaction to the pigments, although this is very, very rare.

Do You Make an Ideal Candidate for Cosmetic Lip Tattoo?

Almost everyone is a good candidate for lip tattooing except for individuals who have Herpes Simplex viral infections. The operation could trigger an outbreak of sores that could leave unpleasant scarring on the treated area. If you take anticoagulants or immunosuppressive drugs or have an acute illness this is also not a good procedure for you to undertake.

As the lips are very sensitive, the cosmetician or doctor may apply a topical anesthetic to the area before the lip tattooing is begun. After the procedure you can expect some bruising or swelling that can last for a week. Swelling is reduced through the use of ice. As your lips will be very sore and painful it might be difficult to eat. For a few days you might want to consider going on a liquid diet to minimize the risk of infection from oral activities. Oral sex is definitely discouraged during recovery time as is the wearing of any kind of lipstick. As lips are constructed of sensitive epithelial cells you will also be advised not to touch your lips or pick at any small scabs that may form as a result of the operation.

What About the Permanence of Cosmetic Lip Tattoos?

Although most pigments are considered to be permanent they might fade over time. Light of all kinds, but especially sunlight can play a role in lightening the color of your tattooed lips. Choosing a blue-based shade of permanent lip liner or lipstick rather than a red or orange-based shade is best. This is because if the color ever does bleach out as a result of the exposure to light, the blue based shades are more likely to fade to a natural looking pink whereas the red or orange based shades are more likely to fade to coral.

Of course, there are some dangers associated with permanent cosmetic lip tattooing. So, it is highly advisable to find a specialist in the field of lip tattooing because once applied, the results are very difficult to remove. Before choosing a cosmetician ask to see a portfolio of his or her work. The best practitioners of permanent tattoo artists will be certified by the American Academy of Micropigmentation and charge between $400 and $600 an hour.Cosmetic enhancement on the lips - (lip tattoo) can someone send me some pictures please!!! please!!! please!!

Try this web, they have info for permanent lip colour.
I had my lips tatooed 3 years ago. Even though she put numbing cream on it hurt like hell. The feeling was like rubbing sandpaper over raw skin, ouch! The swelling lasted a week and lips peeled (which is normal), and you have to put anteseptic cream on through out the days until they heal (7 -10 days). Then I went back 3 months later for a touch up (normal procedure) included in costs. A touch up is the same thing all over again I thought ';why do I put myself through all this hell!'; iF YOU DECIDE TO DO IT GO TO A DENTIST FIRST TO GET A NEEDLE TO BLOCK THE PAIN, YOU WILL BE HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. Good luck.

If you want to change your lips a little then you could try some collagen injections. These last for a few months and then go away so if you absolutely hate it, you won't have to live with it for the rest of your life. Take a look at some of the cosmetic surgery nightmares at awfulcosmeticsurgery.com.

Personally, I'd never mess with my lips or my mouth shape. See a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation if you decide to have surgery.
Don't start messing with your lips!! It will never turn out like you want. Be satisfied with what God gave you. Trying to make a lip longer is just weird and will surely turn out strange looking. Everyone's are different. Everyone should just be content with what they've got unless they have something deformed or something like that.
