I had my lips tatooed 3 years ago. Even though she put numbing cream on it hurt like hell. The feeling was like rubbing sandpaper over raw skin, ouch! The swelling lasted a week and lips peeled (which is normal), and you have to put anteseptic cream on through out the days until they heal (7 -10 days).
